The school in the NEWPITER residential complex wins at REPA Awards 2025

The school designed by ATRIUM for the NEWPITER residential complex in Novoselye (Leningrad Oblast) has received the REPA Awards 2025 in the category "Urban Real Estate / School Concept."

Designed for 1,300 students, the school introduces a new typology of educational space — one that prioritizes the daily comfort of students and teachers while fostering an environment that encourages dialogue, exploration, and independent learning. The architectural solution forms an open, multi-layered structure — from secluded recreation zones to a central multi-storey atrium, which can be transformed into a 500-seat assembly hall.

The project's key concept — a school as a second home — is embodied in pitched roofs that reference a simple, archetypal silhouette familiar to all.

The school's volumes radiate from a central square and are thoughtfully integrated into the urban fabric of the new neighborhood. Instead of a rigid network of corridors and standardized spaces, the layout offers a branching ensemble, open to a variety of uses and experiences.

Earlier, the project was also awarded the Build School Project 2024 prize for "Best New Educational Building."

As of today, the school is under active construction, with the latest site photos taken in May 2025. Completion is expected by 2027.
