Landscape park in Preobrazhenie residential complex
The main objective for our architects was based around providing the residents with green recreation zones, of which there are very little in the neighbourhood. Therefore, the whole of the “Preobrazheniye” territory was planned as a vast landscape park.

In order to achieve the effect of continuous natural environment, the placement of the housing blocks was executed in an opposite way from orthogonal and linear layout, pursuing a more natural distribution of solids, which are additionally lifted above the ground with columns allowing for visual and physical access all through the different areas of the site. A comfortable environment of fluid zoning is produced at an eye-level with the most picturesque views appearing at the passages right under the buildings. The concept of a natural park is further signified by the curved outlines of the islands of greenery. The main inspiration for the plan design was taken from the image of a lily pond where the floating green platforms become planted landscapes, spaces for recreation and visual accents separating the area of the building from encompassing walkways, whereas the space between these islands acts as the main pedestrian communication of the complex. Thus, all centres for communal activity in the area are interconnected with a continuous walking and jogging route.
