Kindergarten in the residential complex "Symbol"
A competent approach to architecture is one of the most important factors in shaping a child’s personality. A space built taking into account current pedagogical theory encourages children to communicate with each other, creates favorable conditions for games and development, and fosters a sense of beauty. Creating such an environment became our main task when developing a kindergarten in the Symbol residential complex, which was also designed with our active participation

The kindergarten is adjacent to the school located on the adjacent site and the Green River Park. They create a space in which educational projects are visually and aesthetically integrated into a single urban development. The cornerstone in designing a kindergarten for 330 children was the issue of compactness: the site has an irregular triangular shape and is significantly limited in area.
The building consists of two blocks connected by a glass corridor. The front one is lined with dark brick-like concrete tiles and echoes the decoration of the neighboring school building. The second block is light, with a plastered facade and a random arrangement of windows, which are highlighted by multi-colored slopes.
Through the glazed walls of the upper levels and the corridor of the first floor, a view opens onto a spacious three-light hall, decorated with the Flamingo art object. Pupils aged 3-4 and 4-5 years occupy the first floor, older children and preparatory groups occupy the second and third floors. Also on the second floor there is a music classroom with equipment and a methodological office. All group rooms are equipped with transformable partitions that delimit sleeping and play areas.
When selecting color solutions for interiors and facades, neutral shades were deliberately chosen without deliberately “childish” tones. Instead, the letter-shaped columns that mark the main entrance area became clear evidence of the typology.
