Voskhod dispensary reconstruction for the hotel Ramada Omsk
The former healthcare center is situated halfway from the airport to the city center on the bank of river Irtysh. It has views to the historical center, and there are two parks nearby. One of them contains an archeological site “Omskaya stoyanka” (Omsk stop). This complex of historical settlements, tombs and workshops that appeared more than 7000 years ago (VI century b.c. – XII century a.d.) was found in 1927.

The healthcare center was built in the beginning of 1980s for the workers of Popov’s radio manufacturing plant. And now it is to be reconstructed into a 4star hotel comfortable for both tourists and businessmen. The existing buildings give an important advantage – an extensive sport and health-improvement block that will become a spa-zone after reconstruction. There will also be a nightclub in the basement. The architects designed an independent entrance for it in the shape of a reversed copper bowl.
Our architects kept in touch with the architect, who designed the building. According to the client’s request they increased the existing building’s area by adding floors on top and a new adjacent block. The whole image of the building is changed: the overall form became softer and the color palette is warmer. There is dark-brown textured concrete tile on the façade of two first floors and aluminum panels above it: white for the new part and ochre on the old one. It was decided to combine every three rooms into two new, as the old layout did not fit the contemporary idea of comfort. As a result there are 201 suites, one third of which are in the reconstructed block. The main interior concept is based on the archeological background of the site, including a special exhibition space for found artefacts in the lobby.
