Almaty train station
Almaty-2 station, built in the 1930s, divided the modern city into two parts. To connect the historical quarter with the rest of the city, a concourse will be added to the station - an elevated passage to the other side, in which there is a ticket sales point, a recreation area, and a descent to the railway tracks. The transition will combine many different functions and connect all parts of the rapidly developing city. Its dynamic form is inspired by the constant movement of people, traffic flows and the energy that arises between them. The building itself seems to flow from one side of the railway tracks to the other.

Passenger flows at the station will be organized in such a way that those relaxing in the cafe do not interfere with people rushing to catch the train. Passengers will disembark through underground passages, and board the train through an escalator descending from the concourse.
In the central square, where a car park was previously located, a pedestrian zone with a monument and places for rest will be organized. All the buildings around it - the station, the surface parking building and the shopping center - will be united with the help of a concourse. Through the passage you can go to any of them without going outside. In addition, office towers will be built next to the station, which will help form a new business district in the city. They also provide access to the concourse.
A new ground metro line will leave the station, which will connect the Almaty-1 and Almaty-2 stations, as well as the central area of the city with the outskirts and the airport. In addition, the metro station will be located on the opposite side of the station, and the path to it will pass through the concourse. This is done in order to attract a new flow of people and retail to the area near the station.
Having connected different parts of the city with each other, the station with its technological architecture will become one of the main symbols of modern Almaty.
